Thailand & Bali Island Adventure

A free day in Krabi. Laze by the pool or on the beach, book a couples spa treatment, or add a half-day trip to the four islands or a kayak through the mangroves. In the evening, the Ao Nang night market is a short drive away.

Cross the Andaman Sea to the Phi Phi Islands and a quiet corner of Phi Phi Don. SAii Phi Phi Island Village sits on its own 800-metre beach of white sand in Loh Bagao Bay, with the jungle behind it. Spend the afternoon swimming in warm, clear water and watching the light soften over the cliffs.

Set out on your own longtail boat for a day among the islands. Your captain takes you to coral reefs to snorkel with shoals of tropical fish, into lagoons walled by limestone, and on to a quiet beach where you might be the only two people there, before you return to the resort for the evening.

A day with nothing planned. Stay on your beach, swim, take a kayak out along the bay, or walk to the viewpoint for the famous view over Phi Phi Don's twin bays. It is your last evening in Thailand, so find a table on the sand for sunset.

A speedboat takes you back to Phuket this morning for the direct flight to Bali, a little under four hours. You are met at Denpasar and driven up into the green hills to The Kayon Jungle Resort outside Ubud, your home for three nights. Your villa has its own pool above the rainforest, and the resort's infinity pools look across the valley.

Spend the morning in Ubud: browse the art market for woodcarvings and sarongs, then walk through the Sacred Monkey Forest, where long-tailed macaques play among moss-covered temples and ancient trees. Back at the resort, the afternoon is for your pool.

Head north of Ubud to the ancient temples of Tampaksiring: Gunung Kawi, with its shrines carved into the cliffs of a river gorge, and Tirta Empul, where Balinese come to bathe in the holy spring water. The day ends in Pakudui village with a home-cooked picnic lunch looking out over the rice fields.

A car takes you down to the coast at Sanur for the fast boat across to Nusa Penida, a wild island of cliffs and coves off Bali's south-east coast. Swim and snorkel in the clear water of Crystal Bay, then settle into Pramana Natura, where your villa has its own pool and a view of the sea.

Explore the island's famous viewpoints today: the tree house above the Thousand Islands, the great headland at Kelingking Beach, and Angel's Billabong, a natural rock pool on the edge of the ocean. Return to your villa for the sunset.

Cross back to Bali this morning and head to Seminyak, where Nyuh Bali Villas gives you a honeymoon villa with its own pool for your last two nights. This evening a three-course candlelit dinner is set up for the two of you, with a glass of wine to toast the journey.

Breakfast floats to you this morning on a tray in your private pool. Spend the day on Seminyak's beach or in its boutiques, then drive south to Uluwatu Temple, perched on a cliff high above the Indian Ocean, and stay for the sunset over the water.

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Denpasar Airport for your flight home, with the islands of the Andaman Sea and the temples and villas of Bali behind you.
